Bittersweet Escape to Lake Erie 🌊
Heading to my favorite place – Lake Erie for a much-needed getaway, but it feels… different. For the first time in years, I’ll be taking this trip without either of my two sidekicks—my loyal friend Jackson or my sweet, fun, funny, amazing daughter.
I won’t be able to look in the review mirror and see my best buddy relaxing in the back so patiently awaiting our arrival to the place he seemed to love just as much as I do. The laughter, exploring, and shared memories with my daughter will be missed too.
I’m grateful for this time to recharge, but there’s an ache knowing they won’t be there to share the sunsets, the walks along the shore, and the calm of the water. I guess this trip will be about embracing solitude and holding them close in spirit.
