A few notes I wanted to share.
1. You are never alone. This is not figurative; literally you are never alone. There is a power, a force, (Universal Life Force, God, Universe, Source, etc. whatever you feel most comfortable calling it) that created you. Because you were created by / with and in its likeness / image, you cannot be without it. It is always within you and available to you. Therefore you need not seek outside yourself. For you’ll be searching among the branches for what only exists in the roots.
2. God is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent. This means God has unlimited powers, knows everything, and is everywhere. This is meaningful because since God / Source is within us, not only does it mean we are never truly alone but it also means we have access to all answers and we ourselves have no limits. God is good and only good. It is our choice to recognize that or not. Once we do, we tend to find peace more easily, knowing that we always have access to goodness, answers, and peace.
3. We are One. These notes apply to everyone. To ALL people, not just ourselves or the people that we like. This means that we are ALL created in his likeness and image and we ALL have God / Source within us. Once we recognize this, we begin to see ourselves in other people. We can see that everyone we meet is just another part of us. They may be a part of us that we don’t particularly like, but to think or act with ill will or malice towards another, would essentially be directing it towards ourselves / God. Learn to accept yourself so you can accept others, flaws and all.
4. If it’s not okay, it’s not the end. This one is pretty simple. We all go through sad, stressful, upsetting, traumatic times in life. Keep in mind it’s what you’re passing through, not your final destination.
5. Heal yourself. It is our responsibility to heal ourselves of all that ails us. It is not someone else’s job to “fix” us and it is also not our job to heal others. We are gifted tough times and circumstances as an opportunity to grow out of them. To rise above. To heal ourselves so we don’t bleed out our pains on other people. We can surely then help the next in line (but we can’t do the work for them).
6. There are Truths, and there are truths. Truths with an uppercase are Universal and unchanging. Then there are lowercase truths. Lowercase truths are different for different people. We all have our truths, many times they are simply beliefs or perspectives. Perhaps your truth is that all people of a certain religion or political party are terrible people. Because we all have our truths it is important to recognize that this rule alone will make you the villain in some people’s stories. You don’t need to understand or change others’ truths- you simply need to allow them and not take them personally. Our truths often change throughout our lives.
7. You are going to make bad choices. This one again is fairly simple. We are often taught to forgive others but find it so difficult to forgive ourselves. Forgive yourself, learn from your bad choices, and move on making different and better choices. It really is that simple.
